Getting started with SFTP.cloud (video tutorial) ​

This nine minute video can save you hours when onboarding on SFTP.cloud, the managed file transfer service by Syncplify.

What getting started involves ​

Getting started takes the steps below, in this order. Each one is covered in depth in the manual's Your first hour page.

  1. Create your account at the SFTP.cloud Portal and confirm your email address.
  2. Set up two step sign in with an authenticator app, and save the recovery codes.
  3. Create your first site: pick its name, region and domain, then start the free trial or pick a plan.
  4. Get an enrollment code for your storage from the site's Storage page.
  5. Install the Storage Connector on a machine next to your storage (Windows, Linux or Docker) and enroll it with the code.
  6. Connect your storage as a virtual file system: a local folder, a network share, an S3 compatible bucket, Azure, Google Cloud Storage or another SFTP server.
  7. Create a user, grant it access to the virtual file system, and make a first transfer with the WebClient or an SFTP client.
