Set up and configure Syncplify R2FS!
To help you get started with R2FS!, we recorded the video below. It shows how to connect your R2FS! storage node to your Syncplify Server! (the SFTP server) and how to perform the initial setup and configuration on both sides.
What the setup involves
- Install the R2FS! node on a machine that can reach the storage, on the protected network (see Download and install).
- Open the node's Admin UI and set the identity the node uses to authenticate to your Syncplify Server!: a pre shared key (PSK), mutual TLS, or both.
- Define the virtual file systems the node exposes: local disks and network shares, or object storage such as S3, Azure Blob Storage and Google Cloud Storage.
- Connect the node to your Syncplify Server!. The node opens and maintains the connection outbound, so no inbound firewall port is needed toward the storage network.
- On the Syncplify Server! side, add a virtual file system backed by the R2FS! node and grant your users access to it. To them it looks like any other folder.
See What is Syncplify R2FS!? for the architecture behind these steps.
